Dynamic Session Pricing for Recording Studios
Set different rates for different days, reward longer bookings automatically, and price engineers and services separately, all calculated at checkout by PunchIn.
A Tuesday session and a Saturday session don't have to cost the same, and a client who books a full day shouldn't pay the same hourly rate as someone booking two hours. PunchIn works out the right price for every booking at checkout, from rules you set once.
What you can set
Day-of-week rates, per room
Give each room its own rate for any day of the week. Charge more on weekends and keep weekday rates where they are, or discount a slow day to fill it. Days you leave blank use the room's standard hourly rate.
Block rates for longer bookings
Add multi-hour discounts to a room, for example 10% off 4 hours or more and 20% off 8 hours or more. If a booking qualifies for more than one, PunchIn applies the single best one. Clients see the discounted total before they pay, so your block rate sells itself on the booking page instead of in an email thread.
Engineer and service pricing
- Bring your own engineer: set a separate hourly rate for clients who bring their own engineer.
- Engineer rates: raise or lower the price for a specific engineer by a flat amount or a percentage, so your most in-demand engineer can be priced accordingly.
- Services: add services such as mixing, podcast or rehearsal with their own price adjustments, and choose which rooms and engineers each one is available with.
How it adds up
Every booking starts from the room's rate for that day, adjusts for the service and the engineer, multiplies by the session length, then applies the best block-rate discount. The deposit your studio requires is calculated from that total, and it's all shown to the client before they pay.
What it doesn't do (yet)
Rates don't change by hour within a day, so there's no separate evening rate. If that matters for your studio, tell us at hello@punchin.studio.
